Ms. Papitha

The best thing about Menaka akka, was she never gave a solution to my problem. She would share her experience with me and enable me to take my own decision. She made me realize my own potential. She taught me how to contribute to the society, apart from living for ourselves. I still remember this incident. During my first year in college, I was selected as a class representative by my professor. In my class, we had equal strength of boys and girls.

Since I studied in girls school till 12th standard, that was my first experience to coordinate work with boys. I faced lot of problems from boys over petty issue as they were not happy being represented by a girl. At that time, the only person who told me not to resign and encouraged me to push forward was my Menaka akka. She said “If you want to step back from your decision because of others, you will never reach your goal” and I took those words sincerely to my heart. And after that, I conducted many workshops and symposiums successfully as a girl leading many boys. If had stepped back on that day, I wouldn’t have seen much progress life now.

Mr. Ashok

After finishing my school I was clueless about what I would do in future. I happened to hear about Agaram Foundation and applied for higher education support. Soon, the volunteers from Agaram came to my house for verification. I was selected as a “Vidhai Student”. Agaram guided me through my admission process and their support didn’t stop there. In fact, it was just the beginning. Coming from a rural background, I didn’t have the confidence to speak in English. I would stammer at the very thought of standing in front of a crowd and addressing them in English. Agaram helped me overcome this fear by organizing several workshops focusing on self confidence and overall personality development.

I would attend every single training & workshop organized for us. All the workshops were filled with inspiration and positive energy and helped us develop leadership skills, life skills and organisational behavior. I would implement all that I learnt from these workshops and very soon, I felt a huge transformation in myself. During my semester holidays, I was involved in Vidhai Students selection process, placement activities and workshop organization for juniors. The learning i got during these activities was tremendous and shaped me as a responsible citizen.

Not only these, the volunteers and mentors of Agaram have had a huge impact in my life. Each and every action of theirs inspired me and motivated me to give back to the society. They were a big support throughout my journey. They are more than just volunteers; they are my brothers and sisters. I am indebted to each and everybody who supported me, in every possible way. I owe all my success to them. I would like to specially mention my mentor Prabhu for his invaluable guidance and time.

I have successfully completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Production Engineering from Madras Institute of Technology and am currently working with Ford India Private Limited. Overall the journey with Agaram Foundation has been extremely meaningful. It has had a very positive impact on my life and has made me the person I am today. This is a never-ending journey; my association with Agaram will continue for life.

Mr. Ramakrishnan

I am Ramakrishnan. My native is Karubaiyanahalli in Dharmapuri district of Tamilnadu. When I was studying +2, ‘Sheik Mohaideen’ my Tamizh ayya told about “Agaram Foundation”. I was selected for Agaram –Vidhai program. Initially I thought that agaram provides scholarship only. But it is also a life changing program. Yes, It happened in my life also.

I have completed my Undergraduate program with first class in Aerospace Dept. of MIT campus Anna Univ, Chennai. J J I got placed in Cyient Limited for the post of Design Engineer through Campus placement. I am one among the five students who got placed in core companies out of 50 students in my class. After two failures in Airforce exam, cracked the Common Defence Exam and shot listed for SSB interviews.

Since I am a hardcore science lover, At last I joined in Dept. of Aerospace of IIT madras for M.S ( by research) with All India Rank of 55 in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Now I am also an IITian, a research scholar in a world renowned institution. It is like dream came true. I started to support my family also. I want to serve to the people by science and innovations. That is the purpose of my life. I am moving to next step in my life. Whoever wants reach new heights in your life make yourself deserved for it as per Swami Vivekananda’s words.

Now I am the Lead of the Alumni- Placement team in our Agaram. It is a matter of pride and joy. It is all the beginning. My heartiest thanks to Agaram family and my teachers and to who are all part of this journey.
