Together in Education (TiE)

Government schools, especially in rural India, lack basic infrastructure. Some schools have insufficient toilets with respect to the number of students, for example. While there are some brilliant teachers, these institutions grapple with vacancies that are not filled for months, affecting the quality of education and training delivered to the students.

  • Is your Corporate organization looking to work towards improving the infrastructure and quality of education in rural Tamil Nadu?
  • Are you a first generation graduate from a government school, who has grappled with these challenges, on your way to the top?
  • If you dream is to contribute towards the betterment of education in rural Tamil Nadu.

Agaram Foundation can help you realise it.

Our foundation is in the process of setting up Agaram chapters in five cities across the US, where the members can actively work towards improving the education facilities in rural Tamil Nadu. The chapter could help arrange for specific needs, assessed by Agaram. The needs could vary from building toilets to arranging for computers.

TiE covers the entire gamut of education in rural Tamil Nadu, where we are happy to help in any way to bring about a holistic change in the education system. Our expertise can help identify the institutions that are in dire need of a massive overhaul – not only in terms of infrastructure but also the quality of education and training imparted to the students.

Deep in the hinterlands of Tamil Nadu, hidden away in tiny villages or towns, lies a huge potential! There are thousands of deserving students, hailing from under-privileged backgrounds, yearning for a way to improve their skills and find a way to access higher education. They’re intelligent, hardworking and ambitious but the only thing that stands between them and pursuing a college degree that will pave way for a better life, is lack of money.

Agaram received more than 42,000 applications so far, but could support around 2000 students. This is only 5% of the population, increasing the wide gap that exists between school and higher education. With your Corporate support, you could change that!

How does it work?

If your Corporate chooses to be instrumental in transforming the landscape in rural schools, Agaram, with its expertise, would be happy to assist you, in any manner. Your generous contribution can mean a new life for a student in rural Tamil Nadu – through better classrooms, better training and a better opportunity to make the cut to a reputed institution of higher education.

Agaram Foundation has been registered as an entity in the US and also has FCRA clearance. The 501c3 tax exempt status has been submitted with the IRS for approval and we are likely to get the approval before the end of this year.
